Belka and Strelka are real pioneers of space exploration. Who else will the Human Protection Committee turn to in difficult times? This secret organization unites all the animals of the Earth to protect fragile humanity from extinction. General Monkey sets the dogs a task: to find out the reasons for the withering of plants important to the planet. Belka and Strelka decided to use a nanosatellite. But how do you assemble this innovative device? They definitely can’t do it without the help of young UniSat engineers...

PARTICIPATING IN THE CREATION OF THE GAME
Have an idea for a new adventure? Want to add your own character to the game? Join our GitHub community and be part of the fun content creation process for UniSat Game! The game is developed according to Open Source standards, which means everyone can work with our code and make their own improvements. Upload your own levels and scenarios to GitHub to share so other players can enjoy your creations.
Let's launch our ideas together!
LEVEL UP PROGRAM
UniSat Game is an educational game created by a team of winners of the Level Up project with the support of GameLab KBTU mentors. Level Up is a learning project about video game creation and gamification from GameLab KBTU and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kazakhstan, part of the UNICEF global initiative to support girls in STEAM areas.
In 2023, a free online course Level Up was launched on the Samgau Digital platform. More than a hundred girls from all over Kazakhstan participated in the first stream, and 50 of them met at the UniSat gamification hackathon at the Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty. 10 concepts were presented, from which the most suitable one was selected for implementation in the UniSat course.
About UNICEF
UNICEF operates to ensure the rights and well-being of every child. Together with its partners, UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to make its commitments a reality, with a special focus on reaching the most disadvantaged and excluded children, for the benefit of children all over the world.
Details about UNICEF activities can be found on the website www.unicef.org
GAMELAB KBTU
The video game research and development laboratory GameLab KBTU was founded in 2022 at the Kazakh-British Technical University to develop video games, offer educational programs in game development, mentor student projects, and conduct scientific research in video games and gamification.
Yes, you can play the game from browser on mobile devices.
Any modern browser should work. The game can be launched on both a computer and a mobile phone.
By helping Belka and Strelka complete missions, players hone their practical skills in satellite assembly and data analysis.
The game is designed for mouse control or touchscreen input. Assemble the satellite by dragging parts. Clicking on a part reveals its description. Clicking again collapses the description.
Account creation in the game is not provided, so progress is not saved. The average game session lasts about 5 minutes, so don't worry about having to interrupt in the middle of the game and lose progress.
We created the game for an audience of our peers - 15-19 years old. However, the game may be interesting to other audiences and does not have strict age restrictions.
Not at the moment. However, we plan to organize a community environment soon.
Yes, the game is designed so that anyone can easily add new levels and characters, change the plot, and also host the game on their websites. You can find the project's source code at this link.
We do not collect or store user data. The game does not use cookies. However, the game includes attribution-free behavioral analytics (we do not know which users are performing which actions) that we need to improve the game.
Since the game is browser-based, it can only be played online.
